2-1 Milan Derby goes to Inter Milan off an Arm

“It’s true that I touch the ball with my arm, but it was inadvertent,” Adriano claimed. Inter’s go ahead goal, scooped from the air and into the goal with Adriano’s arm, decided a enthralling match between Inter Milan and AC Milan. While great Italian television coverage revealed the handball, there was much more to the enthralling match.

With Inter winning, they are now 11 points clear of AC Milan in league standings. Is the league race all over?

In play, the teams were well matched.

AC Milan enjoyed good possession around Inter’s 18 yard box, but Inter counter-attacked in numbers, with AC Milan’s defense looking more vulnerable.  Still, the first amazing moment of the match may have been courtesy of Ambrosini who appeared from behind out of nowhere to challenge Inter’s Stanković as just as he was tucking in a sure goal one on one with Inter’s Keeeper.  The skill on defense of both sides was impressive aside from the couple moments Milan fell asleep.
