Who is scoring in Europe? Eto and Barcelona are Tops

Last year Cristiano Ronaldo scored a remarkable number of goals. Who is the top goal scorer this year? Check the latest goal tally at Goal count! Top Strikers in Europe where you can see the top scorers from 6 top Europe leagues at a glance.

So who is on top right of the scoring charts right now?

  1. Samuel Eto with 23 goals for Barcelona in Spain’s Primera league is scoring a remarkable goal per game on average
  2. Vedad Ibisvic has 18 goals for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga
  3. David Villa has 18 goals for Valencia in Spain’s Primera league
  4. Lionel Messi has 16 goals for Barcelona in Spain’s Primera league

While no individual is quite on pace with Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal frenzy of last year, Eto is close to that pace

The big story is the Barcelona scoring machine with 39 goals from just two players.  Amazingly, FC Barcelona has scored 70 goals over 23 games: they are averaging 3 goals per game.

Eto and Messi are fairly amazing.  Here is a video of some of Samuel Eto’s recent goals.

Most interesting to me about Eto’o is how he gets into such great positions to receive a threatening pass and finish. His angled runs and abilityto cut the ball in the boxor slot it beside the keeper his so fluid and fun to watch!!
