Up and coming young strikers in the MLS
Goals, we crave goals. The USA is not Italy, quality defending is great but we like the sound of the ball hitting the back of the net. Rookies, players new to the MLS, and the under 25 crowd may be providing us this excitement.
We’ve started a focus on the young MLS strikers who are making their mark. The criteria is simple: the player must be under 25 and score in an MLS league game.

After two weeks it already looks like an exciting season for young MLS strikers with Fredy Montero of the Sounders having 3 goals out of two games in his first MLS season.
Robbie Findley of Real Salt Lake, in his third MLS season, is on pace with Montero having scored a hat trick in the 2nd game of the season, and rookie Chris Pontius has already scored for DC United.
I know for a fact there are a bunch of talented young attackers that want to get on this list and may be on it by Sunday night.
Who’ll get the next goal?
