Addressing the press after his infamous Kung Fu kick into the Crystal Palace crowd, which was in response to being sent off and a fan’s verbal threat, 25 January 1995. Cantona was fortunate to have a two week prison sentence for assault reduced to 120 hours community service, but he was banned from all world football for 9 months.
Eric Cantona did come back after the suspension and helped lead Manchester United to a repeat league title and FA Cup victory the next season.
