For the love of football!
This looks like too much fun. What footballer wouldn’t want to have a go at a game like this?
Play Guitar Hero by kicking soccer balls against a warehouse wall? The scale of this takes video gaming to another level, and looks silly fun. It would take a handful of good footballers and some practice to manage a decent score, but wouldn’t it be a blast to try?
The whole thing was hacked together using Arduino, open source game Frets on Fire , some piezo vibration sensors and a projector. And paint and a warehouse.
Here’s some fun behind the scenes footage that explains how they set it up and all. Putting things like this together must be a fun job.
Now I know what you’re thinking: There must be some way I can play soccer hooking my guitar cord up to the starting 11. I’m not sure that’s been sorted out just yet (the project awaits your ingenuity), but you’d think a Guitar Hero / EA Sports FIFA mix could be quite doable. The rock and roll definitely adds something.
