That little club from San Jose, California, has announced an impressive stat for the coming season. A full dozen flavors of beer will be available to spectators at the home games this season. Apparently they were unable to narrow it down to a starting 11.
Which raises the question:
How many flavors of beer can one choose from at Old Trafford, The Emirates, Stamford Bridge, or Camp Nou?
Has American soccer, at least in this fashion, matched or even exceeded European soccer?
No word on whether George Best’s stint playing in San Jose had any influence on this.
Read American Soccer News preview of the San Jose Earthquakes season with the full list of beers. Here’s my pick of the top three beers for their season:
- Sierra Nevada
- Fat Tire
- Kona Fire Rock
Newcastle was on the list, but I am afraid I had to relegate it despite the emotional attachment.
